Accreditation of the standard NMX- EC-15189-IMNC-2008/ ISO 15189-2007 for clinic laboratories.
Particular requirements for quality and competition in the year by the Mexican Accreditation since 2006 as the first Blood Bank in Latin America to achieve it and the only one in Mexico to date.
This standard is not compulsory, was developed for agencies or users (testing and calibration laboratories, units of verification and certification bodies) can demonstrate their ability and competence to produce valid results and therefore reliable, providing the tools to develop a quality management system, based on fulfillment of technical and management requirements (meets most requirements of ISO 9001:200 and ISO 17025: 1999) leading to the validation of techniques and results of laboratory as well as documentation of all processes are performed.
Who gives this distinction is the Entidad Mexicana de Acreditación EMA (Mexican Accreditation Entity) only Mexican private assessment organization whose accreditations are acknowledged world-wide.
Last November 2010, the Blood Bank successfully passed the visit of re-accreditation which is held every four years and is considered within the quality management systems accredited by the Mexican Accreditation as a mature system.
Goals
We are working to obtain in a not too distant future, recognition as a reference laboratory in the area of Immunohematology at the American Association of Blood Bank.
